If you have 2 houses and you list both in order of preference, you will be guaranteed 1 of those 2. Maybe not the one you listed first, but you will get a house. If you only list one of the two, and that house lists you low, you will not get a house. If you only have one house left for pref, congrats because you will know exactly where you are going, no matter where they rank you.
