Then if you are proud of her choice, why keep hammering about why she didn't get in? I'm glad you wish for a good experience in a sorority for her, but there are many other sororities. She made the decision to go after one house and one house alone. Let her live with that. The consequence is that she will not have the "great experience". What goes on behind the scenes is not mystical or rocket science. 20 year olds rate 18 year olds on a variety of things...looks certainly, let's be real. Involvement. Personality. But most importantly, does the PNM click with the chapter or not. That's all that happens. There is nothing more profound or conspiratorial going on. So, what likely happened is that your daughter clicked with membership more than many girls to make it so far, but ultimately not enough to be one of the ones they invited to pref (and keep in mind, many girls that made it to pref ultimately didn't make it high enough up the bid list to get a bid). She sort of fit in, but not quite. That's all that happened. Move on. I'm sure she has.
