It is expensive, but it's worth it. They'll also work out something for you if you need it, you can pay monthly or something instead of all at once. Not all sororities have to pay extra for their formals/semis. The only time I've been fined was for not paying my dues on time and it was only like a $15 fine. If you're pretty responsible then you shouldn't need to worry about being fined!!
