Whatever you do do not join one of these “top strats” please. I joined one and holy hell I rlly wanna drop. When you get initiated you can’t ever rush a sorority again or join another one so you gotta make the right choice. I made the wrong one. Every sorority was nice to me during recruitment so when one of the top sororities picked me I was SO EXCITED. It felt so good to be considered pretty enough or popular or be one of them. But then I realized that every girl who was nice to me during recruitment was just being fake and it was just their job to do so because none of them tried ro get to know me. While the “low tier” sororities were having a summer camp experience basically all best friends, all going on trips together, and stuff we spent most of our “bonding” time in our dorms putting on makeup for like two hours before some boring frat party. Most events were never fun, none of the girls wanted to get their hair wet or do any of the challenges at Phil because it would mess up their outfits or something, we stood around and took hundreds of photos and edited them for Instagram, our retreat looked amazing but we just tanned and gossiped the whole time. Worst experience, I’ve never felt so so pressured to be someone I’m not. Seeing the other sorority relax in sweatpants in their chapter rooms and watch funny movies while everyone in mine is gossiping is exhaustive and it’s ruining my mental health. I’ll never be able to rush another sorority again so I gotta make the most of this but being popular or pretty isn’t everything and I just wanted to have fun.
