Coming into the league in 2018 he was a very hyped prospect due to his length and popularity but playing on 16 minutes each game on a Magic roster with only Terrance Ross as a scorer, 6.2 points per game was just unacceptable and averaging 5 rebounds on those minutes was the bare minimum for a big man. The only redeeming qualities in his game was his blocking and potential. Fart forward now to 2022 and he's averaging 10 ppg on almost 11 minutes more, still not the production the Magic need and his potential is slowly fading. I see him now fitting in as a role player in a team in desperate need of a rim protector, the Nets for example. But in essence, nothing happened to Mo Bamba, just a mixture of being overhyped very slow progression and lack talent in the first place.
