like the other answers said, try not to think too much about tier! each chapter has great things about them, including the ones you typically only hear about their looks for. if you like a lower tier one better you should accept that bid if you get it! you'll have a much better time if you meet girls you feel comfortable with. i'm not sure what you meant by invited to events, but you'll meet tons of people in the Greek system if you're involved! in addition to the people in your chapter, every frat and sorority has philanthropy events, then there's semis and formals, parties, etc. tons of things to attend and get invited to!
