As someone else mentioned, joining a sorority is not worth it if you won't be able to make it to events. There are 1 hour chapter meetings every week, exchanges with fraternities, philanthropy events for your own chapter and other sororities/fraternities, volunteering, traditional events like big/little reveal and initiation, fun things like Songfest, study hours, semi/formal, extra meetings if you take on a leadership position, etc. etc. You can have an amazing experience if you participate fully in all of those, but it's a lot of money and commitment if you don't. And also, chapters are looking for women who will be involved and active members.
