It depends on how well the sorority did in fall recruitment; if they have a lot of their new members drop then they need to recruit a lot more in spring recruitment. The ones that do private COB usually only need a few girls while lower tier chapters need bigger spring pledge classes It's also affected by if they have members graduate in December or go on exchange for second semester
