"Jeffery Stefancic, associate dean of students, said the fraternity could have easily been deactivated as a student organization due to the severity of the allegations. But Stefancic and James Hintz, associate dean of students, were influenced by the national Sigma Phi Epsilon organization. “Part of that decision to let them operate as a recognized organization was the willingness of the national Sig Ep office to change that culture,” Stefancic said.
