1) They promised to build a house years ago... as in 2012 and have not followed through on it. The entire time they were living in Beta they hadn't even purchased land yet. Now they're living in SNU and still show no signs of breaking ground any time soon. It seems that they put more time and energy in finding a fraternity to live in than actually building their house. 2) Them turning fraternities into makeshift houses removes the history and significance from the house. For example, they painted over SNU's murals in their staircase, which is a very significant part of their history as a chapter. That's something that's pretty much unforgivable in their eyes and I'm sure they've messed with Beta's house as well. That being said, it will take at least 4 years for that stigma to die out with all of the older SNUs and Betas when they leave Purdue.
