Tbh you probably won't end up in the same house as your mom if you go into recruitment how you're actually supposed to. I preffed my sister's house and didn't end up choosing it because once I was being honest with myself I realized the only reason it was actually on my radar was for some kind of loyalty I was feeling for my sister. Forget the fact that your mom pledged there, keep a neutral mindset on every house, and go through recruitment the way everyone else does.
