Subject:
Tips For Success When Rushing

Poster Message:
This is coming straight from the heart as a junior in Greek life. First step to succeed in rushing is have an idea what fraternities/sororities are, like know that you are going to be a pledge for a bit and understand the point of Greek life. Do some research on each house and it’s national ranking. Many houses have crucial alumni that can help you network, join a largely popular house. Nothing is given to you, no one cares who you were in high school show up to rush and be an interesting person with interesting stories. Rush events are like interviews but you just have to get people to enjoy your presence and remember your name. Look presentable, don’t show up in gym shorts and a wife beater. If you do all of these things and aren’t awkward you should get into any house you want. That being said, choose the right house. Don’t join a house because someone else wants you to rush there join it because you want to be there. There’s nothing wrong with splitting from your friend group it’s not like you’ll ever see them again, all houses have the ability to party together. Keep in mind you are going to be living there for x amount of years so don’t base your decision off of what others want you to do. Who cares about Greek Rank if you’re a stud and you know you will succeed join any house you want. There are many houses that aren’t top tier that have a great group of guys and house preferability from all of Greek life changes every year. Stay away from trouble houses that seem to always be on probation (you’ll have to do some research on that too). There were top houses when I was a freshman that are irrelevant now so just stay safe out there kiddos.
