Hey there! Just a friendly reminder for all the women on this site that APhi nationals does not mandate that they maintain a “white girl” look. The article posted on here previously that was supposedly “exposing” their rush practices was about APhi at University of Michigan. Not APhi at Purdue. Women in other houses are intentionally slandering APhi (as well as many other houses) on here to make them look bad in front of PNM’s so that they have an “advantage” during rush. What these women don’t want you to know is that the bidding/rush process mandates that are given to each chapter by their nationals is different and varies for each of their different chapters/locations. Obviously the women slandering APhi on here know that information (unless they are a geed) because mostly all sororities’ nationals work the same way (or maybe they just aren’t involved enough with their rush/bidding process to be educated on this topic). Just think about it for a second. Chapters have different reputations on each campus. GPhi at IU has a lot of members and gets ranked pretty high on their greek rank page but GPhi at Purdue isnt ranked as high (as of yet) and has less members. GPhi’s nationals gives their chapter at IU different/varying mandates for their rush/bidding process than they give to GPhi at Purdue because the 2 chapters are pretty different compared to each other. Take schools in the south for example. At the University of Arizona Pike is one of the “top tier” fraternities but at Purdue they havent continuously been ranked “top tier” like that. Sticking with U of A, DG is continuously ranked as one of the “top tier” sororities but isn’t continuously ranked as “top tier” at Purdue. Obviously their nationals wouldn’t give these chapters the same mandates for their rush/bidding process! They adjust their rush/bidding process for each chapter so that it can be the most effective for that specific chapter! DG and Pike at U of A have a much more selective and competitive bidding/rush process than DG and Pike do at Purdue. The previous APhi member at U Mich did a lot of good by speaking up about the injustices that were taking place within their chapter and it must have taken courage! Having these conversations and speaking up about things that you think need to be changed and injustices that you are witnessing are so important because it opens the door for societal change and “gets the ball rolling”. However, you are devaluing the work, time, and courage that it took for the U Mich woman to write the article by weaponizing it against others. You are taking away educational value from that discussion. APhi at Purdue doesn’t rush/bid certain girls to maintain a “skinny white blonde girl” image and isn’t mandated by their nationals. APhi at purdue takes appearance into consideration the same amount as all the other top/mid tier sororities on campus do. Scroll through all the instagrams of the top/mid tier sororities at Purdue and compare them to eachother.
