Honestly, best advice is to just rush around. I've had great experiences with some of the DChi guys and Pike guys I've met, whereas a few of the guys at Beta (granted, just sophomores) I've met were pretty pretentious. One thing to keep in mind is that most houses will be off probo after next semester, so you shouldn't really worry about that too much. Additionally, being in a house that pairs with sororities for Grand Prix/Football definitely makes it a lot easier to meet different people and get closer to the greek system than being in a house that doesn't.
