(Continued) I saw girls in my dorm and in my classes join some of the "top tier" houses and some were absolutely miserable. Some didn't feel a sense of sisterhood at all. Just because a house has a reputation of having really pretty girls or being fun to party with doesn't mean it's going to be the best fit for you. Try not to get hung up on which house is the most popular. Focus on who you want to live with and call your friends/sisters. As I said earlier, it's been 10 years since I graduated. I'm proud to say that the sisterhood I found at Purdue has extended far beyond college. I am still in touch with the many of my sorority sisters. There is a large group of us who live in the Indianapolis and Chicago areas and we still get together and catch up. And I think the most impressive thing is that we are still there to support each other through the hard times. My dad passed away this summer and two of my sorority sisters made the 5-hour drive to attend his funeral. Others sent cards, flowers and donations. And I received numerous phone calls, texts and emails from sisters extending condolences. It's in moments like those that I am so grateful for my sisters. Years from now, absolutely no one will care where a sorority ranked in popularity. The house I chose was not the most popular on campus, but it was a wonderful place to live and introduced me to many lifelong friends. Best of luck to all the PNMs. I hope you find the sisterhood that you have been searching for.
