As mentioned above, many sororities have specific rules/guidelines for handling legacies and it has nothing to do with the school your mom/grandmother attended. I believe you can find most of these rules/guidelines online for each specific sorority. A couple generalities are that legacies automatically get invited back to at least the 2nd round, and if you get invited to pref round then you are guaranteed a bid.
