Quota is never a predetermined number set ahead of time. It depends on the number of pnms staying through the process and it actually sets itself after the pref round with a simple formula: Number of pnms attending prefs and signing cards divided by the number of chapters = Quota Quota, being fluid, adjusts from year to year with a larger or smaller pool of pnms and also with a change in the number of chapters. There will likely be slightly larger new member classes this fall: If there are 500 additional freshmen and we go by the current statistics, then 60% would be women and 20% of those would go through recruitment, so there would be an additional 60 pnms going to 9 houses, an increase of 6 or 7 for each chapter. Kappa being out of the picture would not be quite as impactful, sadly, but that's why they are de-chartering.
