The women recommending you should understand that recruitment is competitive, and that it's a chance to find the sorority that is the best fit for YOU. Just because they were in a specific sorority, doesn't mean it is the right one for you. During rush you may even realize that you like a particular house more than Chi O, so you shouldn't let their recommendations or experiences pigeon hole you into only one sorority. And unless these women are alums of UNC's chapter or national officers, the recommendations might not even hold much weight for Chi O. My last piece of advice is to go through rush with an open mind and trust the system. I dropped out of rush my freshman year because my favorite house cut me. I re-rushed the next year because I severely regretted my decision and am happy to say that I found a house that I fell in love with, even though it was not one of my favorites when I went through rush the first time.
