It is not the top houses anymore. Some people declared a group of houses "royal" many years ago and the houses still hang on to the title. The sororities in the group are probably still true to the "top houses" but not fraternities. 1 of the 3 (beta) got kicked off, another one (ato) is definitely no longer considered by anyone to be a top 3 house. The top 3 houses are almost unanimously considered: -pikes, SAE, and sigma chi The royal bar crawl means nothing anymore. It's just a historical social event.
