It doesn't really matter much at UofI anyway, but since your relatives did not go here, there is no family history at those houses at UofI. If they went here, they could send a letter to the alum board who would send it to the recruitment chair. Unless it's your mom's school you honestly are not doing yourself any favors worrying about it. Be yourself and you will find the house that fits you the best :) P.S. Both of those houses have something to offer and I recommend visiting them, but I wouldnt make the "legacy" thing a factor.
