Coming from another viewpoint, creating more rules like this just makes it more dangerous than it was. Think about it this way, if you have more restrictions that is placed on events, then more unregistered parties are going to happen than before. Agree with me or not, people are going to have them, we’re here to have fun too. We are being ridiculous if we really think this is going to work. When you have to be sneaky to have events, that’s when it gets dangerous because you miss the important risk management steps. There are fraternities off campus that are able to consistently host safe events because they don’t have the restrictions IFC has, and because they have to be so much more careful, they take all the steps in hiring security and bartenders. I do agree that it’s ridiculous we’re being told who we’re allowed to associate with, if I wasn’t already in my 4th year I would drop too. They are targeting everyone who isn’t a part of the IFC, and everyone who is in the IFC are a bunch of blow hards. Threatening to kick girls out is absolutely insane, everyone should be allowed to find a place that they feel at home, and restricting girls to that is shameful. These new rules are going to be damn near impossible to follow, which means more and more orgs are going to get kicked off campus.
