Let me start this by saying that if you’re a girl, you may as well save your time and money and skip recruitment. The new Panhellenic rules are absolutely horrible. They have passed actual rules saying who we can and can’t hang out with. Ladies, we are paying for a second set of parents now. I joined a sorority to meet people and have fun while I’m in college, and that is the total opposite of what I’ve gotten out of it. I was being threatened of getting kicked out of what used to be my sorority (I dropped after one semester) just for going to certain organizations events. Since when is it not my right to choose who I affiliate with? I am not paying $3000 of money I worked really hard for just to have girls my age giving me rules to follow. It is a shame what greek life at Texas State has turned into.
