Honestly, what happened at Texas State could happen anywhere and in any type of organization. UT has dealt with this issue several times. The difference is that the administration at Texas State overreacted and closed the Greek system down -- even chapters who have done nothing wrong at all. Greek Life is strong at Texas State and has more tradition than a lot of people realize. There are many proud Texas State Greek alums who have prospered and are very proud of the fraternities and sororities at Texas State. It is interesting that the administration neglects to mention the philanthropy and university involvement seen by the Greeks. Once the ban is lifted, everything should go back to normal.
