To all the incoming freshman freaking out on this site about rush, I'm not gonna lie it's a stressful process but please DON'T overthink it. Are their tiers? Yes. Ask anyone ur first week and while the order may vary person to person, the tiers haven't changed since the 80s. HOWEVER, every sorority on campus goes to blvds, participates in homecoming, has date dashes, formals, and mixers. Most participate in Sing Song, as well as every house having leaders on campus. Every sorority donates money to their philanthropy and every sorority has a great sisterhood. The important thing is to find a place at SMU that YOU, not anyone else, can call home. The second you leave college tiers don't mean anything, and when you're spending hundreds of hours with these girls, if you're with girls you don't click with you'll have a miserable time. For example, a top tier at SMU can be a bottom tier somewhere else. When I studied abroad no one cared what tier my sorority was, but instead if I met ANY other Panhellenic women we instantly bonded as we have had the same experiences of love and acceptance. Every sorority on SMU's campus is in the top 12 largest houses nationally, with 5 of our sororities being the 5 biggest in the nation! This means when you graduate SMU you'll be able to find sisters in every city in the country. So please, you'll be swayed by your freshman friends opinions, but go to a place where you feel at home. That is what a sorority is for, to find a home away from home
