Every chapter has their own way of voting. In my house nationals says we are absolutely not allowed to show names, in order in order to give girls more of a fair shot. A name is said aloud, girls share their feelings and we all vote. If nothing negative is said then that PNM goes up on our list. My friend told me that in her house, everyone votes and then they put the names of pnms in order and then they make arguments about moving girls up/ down. I know it’s considered ritual but I think it should be less of a secret. So it depends on who you talk to, if their opinion is taken more seriously than others, then you might move up. It depends on who is rushing and how many girls know who they want before rush. It depends on what other girls rank houses too. Panhellenic makes the equations it uses for the algorithm in the computer system after each round public. Also disappointment goes both ways. It doesn’t matter what house you are in, you will be sad when a PNM you clicked with doesn’t come back. The process is not always fair. We usually only hear the good stories.
