VQ really only seems to boost middle houses. It allows struggling houses to say they made quota, but inevitably a big chunk of those NMs drop before initiation. Notably, it didn't help Theta at Ole Miss. During their last recuitment, PNMs chose to drop out before pref if they only had Theta left or suicide if they had Theta and another house at pref. As a result, they missed their assigned quota by half and got shut down by their national for numbers.
