I'm completely dumbfounded that any college age girl would feel like there were fewer social opportunities in any sorority than she would have as an independent. Second, I can't figure out how in the world some parents let their little chickees grow up to feel so entitled that they would belittle the only sororities that wanted them. Are they totally unaware of the irony? Perhaps the mom writing this crap doesn't know that the alumna chapters in Dallas have women from all over the country, including places where the sororities she's too good for are the #1 sorority on campus. Also, are there seriously people who, in the 21st century, are so small that they would feel "less than" because they weren't in the "popular" alumna group? My grandmother would tell you to stand up straight, that you were as good as anybody else. It's laughable in this day and age that you think anyone under the age of 45 believes this crap.
