We are allowed to be frustrated. We are allowed to cry that the process isn’t right, when we go through formal recruitment, and many girls feel forced into a sorority that we would end up paying for, but receiving fewer social opportunities and more social stigma at SMU. We’re allowed to care about what fraternities we mix with. We’re allowed to care that for more girls to get in top sororities, sorority 8 needs to start reaching quota (which hasn’t happened in years) and we’re allowed to be frustrated about that, because as harsh as it sounds, sorority alumnae status in Dallas, frat relations in college, and social status do matter to us, and we don’t get that with certain sororities on campus.
