Several people have commented on diversity in rush at Alabama. There are several facts that they need to be aware of. 1. Alabama is a public University that receives a ton of federal and state money, and would not exist without it. 2. A few years ago the administration at the University mandated to the sororities that they had to diversify or face a fine. 3. Several sororities paid the fine for the first year or two, not sure if they are still doing it or not. 4. The progressive sororities, including some big ones, realized that this was going to happen and decided to take the best pledge class possible, regardless of race, creed, of color. 5. At SMU, being a private University, it would probably be up to the administration to facilitate this action.
