If you really can't afford it, please do not go through rush. You could end up taking a spot from a guy or girl who can afford it and leave your chapter down a member when you eventually quit because you can't afford dues & events. The scholarships available tend to be for short term financial emergencies - i.e., parent suddenly unemployed or disabled or another short term financial emergency. They aren't intended - or allowed- to subsidize a member's entire Greek experience for 4 years. The national offices fund some scholarships but they are to be used for academics (tuition, books, study abroad, etc) not for dues. Remember your dues are only one part of the expense. There are parties and other events you have to pay to attend, plus shirts, big/lil gifts, etc.
