SMU Spring Fraternity Rush will be one of the most selective in decades. With the recent demise of KA, Lambda Chi and Pike removed from 2017 Spring Rush, SMU fraternities pledge selection will be the most selective in decades. The Three Top Tier Fraternities, SAE, Sigma Chi and Fiji will not offer as many bids to pledges as they normally would. They will try to keep their quota to 60 or under. The Three Mid Tier Fraternities, Phi Delt, Beta and Sig Ep will try to keep their quota to 50 or under. The Bottom Tier Fraternities, Pike, Kappa Sig and the rest - will try to capture those Freshmen that fell between the cracks. This years Freshmen need to choose their top 1 or 2 fraternities and spend as much time meeting those members as possible. Being a GDI at SMU in the Spring is a lonely, depressing experience...
