In my opinion, your greatest advantage for joining Greek Life at Binghamton is being from Long Island or Westchester and being acquainted with those social circles back home. There are minorities in the predominately white groups, but many of them are mostly from the suburbs as well. It can be tough if you are an outsider or from rural New York or from the 5 boroughs with the exception of Staten Island.
