The standards by which we select and initiate new members have been in our makeup since the founding in 1855. Unlike current institutions much more recently founded, we will never change our requirements for those seeking membership. Sigma Chi is not a “designer” club where new concepts in social more’s cause clubs and institutions to modify their rules and concepts to fit new generations. We do not require everyone we meet to adhere to our standards regardless of how congenial and useful they might be. Rather, we only require these standards if those men who ask to be admitted into our order tb be faithful to the principles all through life with the justified knowledge that the principles they voluntarily take into themselves will help and aid the Brother as he goes through life in very positive ways. Nothing else is required. IHSV
