This is not so much as a political statement as it is a practical one. The single-gender societies (especially all-female) on the Tap sheet seem to have an enormous burden of getting confirmations and recruiting people. It's a fact that they are well behind the standard 15/16 members relative to the other societies. I think societies should be all-gender because that seems to be more popular anyway.
