It's okay. relax. Only 1/5th of your class will get into a non YSI society, and most people just get in because their friends were in the class above. Yes, that's pretty much how it works for all societies. Some may claim to be about merit, achievement, etc., but at the end of the day, if you're not very close (junior friend #1) with a senior in a society, you probably won't get the tap. It's not the end of the world, and your senior year won't suffer. Relax, and enjoy the rest of yale.
