Ignore whoever was just so unreasonably rude to you above. I was able to rush when i was admitted as a Spring Admit. I did have to get it appealed, but I was coming in with a 4.0 from my former school and I lived on campus at my former school (IDK why, but that was important) and they let me go through. I will say that I do sort of regret joining a sorority initially because I felt pressured to only make friends with them when I first got here and I got along better with other people. It's your call though. Good luck :)
