<strong>Subject:</strong><br />the reality of recruitment<br /><br /> Poster Message:
Here's why what is said on Greek Rank doesn't matter, even if some of it is true: only your opinion counts at the end of the day. Here's the reality: you are only 1 in approx 500 other girls (rough estimate based on the last 2 years) going through recruitment. You, and everyone else, most likely have a decent GPA and strong involvement while you were in HS. These are the types of students Elon generally recruits. What will set you apart from the rest of the crowd is your personality, the way you carry yourself, your ability to relax and carry on a conversation with the person that is rushing you. The harshness of recruitment is that no one has a perfect recruitment. You will be cut at some point. And don't take it personally or let it color your views of that sorority. A lot of times cuts are made because of things outside your control and they have nothing to do with you or who you are or who you know or how many sorority dates you went on. But know that the organizations that did invite you back, want you to come back to meet more of their sisters and see if you are the right fit for them. The best advice given to me when I went through recruitment wasn't from my Pi Chi. It was from a friend in a sorority that ended up cutting me before pref: Go into everyday of recruitment with a new set of eyes and look for a new favorite every day. You will be surprised at the positives you see in each chapter.
