Supposedly the Board is going to meet to vote to make Elon an all female institution effective 2022 admission class. The school has realized that the male/female ratio can't be changed as males simply don't want to attend Elon in sufficient numbers to maintain a balanced student body. For the past 5 years the school has been paying hefty sums via awards and grants to males willing to attend Elon but the program hasn't brought in enough male students to get close to the 50:50 ratio target. Projections based on applications received so far in 2019 seem to indicate that the ratio next year will be 70% female and 30% male. Pretty incredible that they can't even drum up enough males with their payment program to get them to come to Elon. I don't want to go to an all female college? What can we do????
