Over 2o years ago, my roommate convinced me to pledge Phi Mu along with her during rush of our freshman year. I was being rushed hard by Chi O and really wanted to be a "baby owl". My roommate told me that I would just blend in and wouldn't be much of a contributor; she said that Phi Mu needed me more. I pledged and was initiated into this horrid group of girls. These girls were bullies and hateful to one another and treated me badly. I bet it has not changed one bit. After graduation from college, I went on to teach and be an outstanding influence on good quality girls. Whenever any fo my girls say that they are going to USM, I ask if they are going through rush. If they say "yes",I tell them emphatically NOT TO PLEDGE Phi Mu. My girls usually pledge KD or Chi O...The best groups on campus. Phi Mu really hurt my college experience, I did however, rise above. Sometimes, I feel sorry for them. They have the national backing to be good.
