As an observant member of the Greek community I think these rankings/explanations are objective and mostly agreeable with most level-headed members of sororities and fraternities at USM. Top Tier (no particular order) -Pi Kapp: By far the biggest chapter, lots of diversity. If you are looking to be a leader on campus, this is the place you should go. They have a strong, but seemingly fragmented (at least from the outsiders perspective) brotherhood. -Sig Ep: This is also a leadership-oriented fraternity. However, it seems that their nationals are very strict with rules, making them seem uptight. I think it is great that they accept minorities and do not haze. However, they do get criticism for not having a pledge process. -Sigma Chi: The former "best of the best" fraternity. These guys are not involved on campus much anymore and have fallen in grades significantly. However, they have a great philanthropy that gets everyone involved and are still popular with sorority girls. -SAE: This chapter seems to be improving and shedding their less-than-flattering image they had in the past. They seem to be in trouble pretty frequently though... Middle Tier -ATO: Literally all New Orleans guys. Fun to party with, but they don't offer much else. They do have a few face guys that try very hard to get their chapter back to where it used to be. -PIKE: They have a bad reputation, but they do have fun parties. No campus leadership out of these guys. However, they do throw good parties
