Dear PNM's, I'm sure many of you are starting to feel excited (or nervous) about going through Recruitment. I remember what it was like two years ago before I went through. Many of you are on this website to figure out the "reputation" of each sorority here on campus. I know I did. But honestly, if I could go back in time I would slap myself for buying into the horrible things that people say about other chapters. Please read the following points: 1. There are great women in EVERY sorority. I have friends in almost every organization on campus. Remember that every sorority has almost 300 (!!!) women in the chapter, so NO MATTER WHERE YOU END UP you will click super well with some girls and not click so well with others. This is not to say that sisterhood is not valued - it is in every sorority. My main point is that YOU WILL MOST LIKELY FIND FRIENDS NO MATTER WHERE YOU END UP! 2. Do not be intimidated by other PNM's who are friends with girls who are already in sororities. When I went through recruitment, I didn't know anyone! (I'm from out of state.) Although you many think PNM's with connections have a better chance, in reality they don't! Just be friendly, relax, and have genuine conversations - I ended up being able to pref my top 3 favorite houses and I didn't know anyone before coming to campus. 3. The girls you talk to at the houses are JUST AS NERVOUS AS YOU ARE! Remember that YOU are wanted and we are trying to recruit great girls like YOU!! Relax and have fun!
