Yea, most go from 400-600 dollars, but new members (pledges) usually have higher dues during that first semester. This is because national organizations charge initiation fees that include costs for things like brotherhood pins. Regardless of your chapter, the majority of your dues will go to nationals for insurance and administrative costs. I have found that you save money being in a frat in the long run because of housing. Most good fraternities will have off campus houses that brothers essentially pass down. Rent in Williamsburg is cheaper than on-campus housing, so think of the money you save in living costs as reapportioned to frat dues.
