Regardless of your chapter, the majority of your dues will go to nationals for insurance and administrative costs. I have found that you save money being in a frat in the long run because of housing. Most good fraternities will have off campus houses that brothers essentially pass down. Rent in Williamsburg is cheaper than on-campus housing, so think of the money you save in living costs as reapportioned to frat dues.
