aephi vs. dg

there were a couple of years where aephi's pcs were really seen as girls who wanted to be top tier and didn't make it/set themselves up to be the backup to the top (mostly pi phi just based on similarities). they also didn't have as much of an on-campus presence. in the same period, dg evolved to be more outgoing and social and because they already had more of a presence/identity that was separate from the top chapters people started seeing them as "better". honestly i think dg is as good as they're going to get unless they drastically change their rush to match the top tier recruiting strategy (good luck with that) and the aephi sophomores are pretty great and don't seem to be as social climby as some of their older girls. i think people are putting dg slightly above aephi out of habit, but both are cool chapters for different types of people and both are middle tier. does it matter who's the better middle tier?
