It makes so much more sense to talk about how DG cares about rep in regards to how they recruit. I forget where but someone made a post recently that paired sororities by how they look at recruitment and it just made SO much sense. DG can be grouped with AEPhi, ChiO, and AOPi in that they recruit by personality and want their reps to be in line with their personality. So DG wants to be the sweetheart overachievers, AEPhi wants to be fun girls with character, ChiO wants to be the hipster chill sorority, and AOPi wants genuine, nice and involved girls. They're not going to take people who they think will make them "top" or "popular" or whatever because they'd rather recruit people who actually fit the character of the chapter. APhi, Pi Phi, and Kappa want to be known for being "top" and "cool", and that's how they recruit. So they take people who are pretty and who rush well and can give off that "better than you" vibe. But they all lose something the more you get to know them and get worse when you group a bunch of them together. That's also why personality changes so much between pledge classes and why things get catty and dramatic when different personalities who all have that elitist thing going for them clash. And that's not to say some of each group don't end up in the other, but that really doesn't happen all that often and happens when people slip through the cracks. And no one knows what KD's deal is yet since they screwed up their only recruitment so far.
