Subject:
Serious Question for Abolitionists

Poster Message:
I’ll support abolition if that’s what marginalized communities really want. We need to support those who say they’ve been harmed. I don’t like what I’ve seen people say about how they think the harm isn’t real or valid. I just have one question before I join your side and the group chat working toward abolition. Will you object if I form a club geared towards girly girls with the purpose of making lifelong friends and meeting boys? Anyone of any race, identity, or background could join. That’s just the purpose. Would this be alright with you all or is that oppressive as well? I don’t want anyone to be left out, but I also want a space where I can be myself and meet people for these purposes if I have to leave my sorority. It’s okay for their to be other specialized groups on campus, so can we make this club as well? It can be open to all but it does have a specific purpose that might make some feel unwelcome or disinterested (much like other groups on campus). I know this sounds snarky, but it’s not meant to be. I’m starting to get the abolitionists points that Greek Life must be abolished. I just want the assurance that it’s okay for me to live my life the way I want. I don’t think it’s fair that other groups get to have a special purpose or base, but I’m not supposed to want to be around people with the same interests as me.
