it can be quite difficult to go through rush as a sophomore. you basically have to have to either make an incredible impression during rush, like above and beyond what would normally be required, or have very good friends in the chapter you want to join who are willing to advocate hard for you during recruitment. some chapters will cut all sophomores unless they have a current member who is willing to promise to take that soph as a little if she ends up joining the chapter. no harm in going through new member period! I know a LOT of people who were really unhappy with where they ended up at first but ended up giving it a shot and made friends. you're for sure not alone. you've accepted the bid so I believe at this point this means you can no longer participate in informal fall recruitment. whether you drop now or two weeks from now, you'd still have to wait until next spring to rush.
