That is too low. The new requirement for all chapters to be in good academic standing is a 3.0, which jumped up from a 2.7 in a whole semester. That put a lot of houses in negative standing, even though it was not their fault in the scope of things. Many houses now are focused on getting back in good academic standings because the sanctions for that is kind of steep. Houses just want to know if you are smart enough to A) stay off university probation, B) keep the house off or help them get out of probation and C) not be a holdover because you partied too hard and your grades here weren't good enough to be initiated. -TFB
