I am also a rushee, and it could be a few things depending on which chapter. If it was me, I would hold the legacy thing for now, until you can casually slip it in at an event or while talking. When I'm talking to recruitment chairs I always remind myself that first impressions last. So i try to be somewhat reserved, and read them. Lastly, i've been told its a two way street, they don't have to bid you, and you certainly don't have to accept a potential bid from them.
