Just being straight upfront and forward, you are going to need in a sorority house. If you doing rush during fall rush, if you tell them, I am not interested in living in the house, they will immediately look over you. These live-out fees are sorority fees that is paid for living out of the sorority house. You have to pay money to the sorority after you move out into an apartment. Live the first year in the dorm, do the necessary amount of time in the sorority house and move out into an apartment after you complete your obligations. Telling you straight, if you join a sorority and you don't live in the house for at least a certain amount of time, they are going to be asking who the hell gave this girl a bid who only shows up for meetings and social events. Plus, living in a sorority isn't bad, you basically get to live in mansion with your future best friends, you get good food too, and there are generally quiet hours or a study room.
