First off, give your kid some space to learn and figure things out for himself. From what you wrote it seems you have been helicoptering him his whole life and he isn’t going to flourish in normal societies if you are the one making the big decisions in his life such as choosing his major and even going as far to say “we” have gotten him into the University of Washington. Regarding fraternities there are many options for many different people. There are ones that drink and party many times per week and there are others more focused on academics. There are also dry frats like Theta Xi and Phi Delts who are essentially dry houses. There are many options for your kid but this should ultimately be his decision because if he joins a house you don’t like, you’re stuck there.
